THE FALCON CASTLE ASHBEY | NORTHAMPTON | UK 2020
SCULPTURE | BRONZE
The artistic idea behind this sculpture is to unravel a myth of the primordial creation. In this primordial myth, the egg symbolises the beginning of the universe, when life was delivered to our earth by an alpha comet. The life inside is only suggested. And one can only guess by some small organic curves and indents on the surface of the sculpture, what kind of creature will come out. Abstract and sensual at the same time, the Egg refers to the universal foetus, from which all life forms were developed.

This 4 meters long canvas was painted in Aigana’s studio in London, and then she traveled to Paris to finish the gold leaf phoenix bird together with Celine Alexandre. The original canvas has been enhanced by gold leaves, to bring the effect of a constellation, on the foggy sky initially executed by the artist. The lobby and the reception murals are telling the stories of the great central asian steppes. Artist worked on 7 meters tall canvases for this project, using acrylic, oil paints and gold leaf.
